In the movie “Chhoti si Baat” Arun Pradeep (Amol Palekar) wants to buy a scooter to impress his lady love Prabha (Vidya Sinha) and instead ends up buying an old bike due to a devious stratagem hatched by Ustad Gurnaam, of Munich garage, and his mechanic accomplice Pinto.
As part of a plan to get rid of an old bike that is in a state of disrepair, Gurnaam, along with Peter, Pinto and another accomplice staged a enactment where Pinto and the other guy pretend to be buyers interested in the bike. As part of the sales pitch, Gurnaam lists out the following qualities for the motorcycle.
- Single owner for 25 years
- Original English maal (closest translation – goods)
- Every component is like a piece of diamond
Gurnaam also claims that the bike is his dil ka tukda (piece of heart) and he is compelled to sell this only because he is in financial need. Gurnaam asks for Rs 4000 and settles for a single cash payment of Rs 3000 to which Arun agrees to.
In this movie it is shown that Arun is looking at a Royal Enfield bike, but when he is riding in the picture above, it is a Triumph Speed Twin model.
